Creating a Like Gate

Prerequisites

To create a Like Gate, you must first have at least one design already created and saved. You will need to create the design to show to Fans. If you wish to show an entirely separate design to non-Fans, you will need this created and saved as well. These designs do not need to be published; they simply need to be saved to your "My Designs" library. Once your designs have been created and saved, you're ready to get started!

Steps to Create a Like Gate

1. Click the My Like Gates button on the left-hand side of the Template Browser.
    

2. Click New Like Gate at the top of the top of the "My Like Gates" menu. This will start the "Like Gate Wizard".
    

3. Choose your content for Fans. This is the content that visitors of your Page will see if they are fans (they have 'Liked' your Page). Once you click the design you’d like to use, your selection will be highlighted. Click Next to continue.
    

4. Choose your content for Non-Fans. This is the content that visitors of your Page will see if they are not yet fans (have not yet clicked 'Like' on your Page). There are two different options. Select your option to continue:

1. Express Like Gate: Choose this option to hide/obstruct the tab with an overlay until the visitor Likes your page. Edit the text, set the dimmer level, and click Next to continue. The preview will show you how your overlay will look when published.

2. Another Saved Design: Choose this option to show another one of your designs to visitors until they Like your page. Select the design you’d like to use; your selection will be highlighted. Click Next to continue.
    

5. Set the details for your Like Gate.

1. Select the Title for your Tab. This will be the title that is displayed in Facebook.

2. Enter a Description for your design. This won't be displayed or used in Facebook, but it will help you identify the design later in the "My Like Gates" menu.

3. Select the Facebook Page to which the design should be published.

• Pages displayed in red already contain a Tab with the title you've selected. If you select a Page displayed in red, the existing (previously published) Tab will be overwritten with this new design.

• Pages displayed in black do not have a Tab with the title you've selected. You can publish this Tab to add it to the selected Page.
   

6. Click Publish Tab.
    

7. Once in Facebook, you'll be asked to confirm the publish . Click 'Add <tab title> Tab' to confirm.
   Note: If you manage multiple Facebook pages, you will be asked to select which Page the Tab should be published to. After you make your selection, you will see the confirmation area.
    

8. Once you confirm, your Like Gate will be published immediately. Visitors of your Facebook Page will be able to see your newly published Like Gate.
