Image Editor is launched automatically in the following scenarios:
Double clicking on an image socket while using the Template Editor.
During the Insert Image process, when the image is selected 'My Computer'.
During the Insert Link flow, if an image is selected from 'My Computer'.
To summarize, whenever an image is inserted or uploaded from your computer (or camera), then Image Editor is launched.
