
The Color Theme tool allows you to change the colors of a particular design. You can change individual colors or apply entire color themes.
Note: The Color Theme tool only applies colors to HTML areas of a design. The Color Theme tool does not apply colors to image areas.
Accessing the Color Theme Tool
From the Template Editor, click the Style & Colors button, and click the Color Theme tool. The Color Theme menu is opened.
Changing individual colors in a Template
In the Color Theme menu, click and drag color swatches
from the Default Color Palette
and/or Custom Color Palette to
the Change to column, dropping
each swatch on top of the color you wish to replace. A Color Theme can
include up to 8 colors.
To see a preview of the design with these new colors
applied, click the Preview button.
Click Save & Finish to apply your new colors and return to the Template Editor.
Applying a Pre-defined Color Theme
Choose a theme from the Themes drop-down list at the bottom of the Color Theme menu. Once you select a theme, its colors are shown to the right.
Click Use Theme. The Change to column's swatches are updated to reflect the new theme. You also make changes to individual colors after you've applied this theme.
To see a preview of the design with these new colors applied, click the Preview button.
Click Save & Finish to apply the theme and return to the Template Editor.
Custom Colors
The 27 most recently defined custom colors are displayed in the "Custom Color Palette" area. Custom Colors can be defined using the color wheel, or by entering RGB, HSV or Hexadecimal values.
To define a custom color using the Color Wheel:
From the Color Theme menu, click
Add Custom Color. The Custom Color
tool is displayed.
Click anywhere in the vertical Hue slider to select
the hue.
Click anywhere in the large Color Wheel to select a
color. The New color swatch at
the top reflects the color you've selected.
Click OK to add the color to the Custom Color Palette and return to the Color Theme menu, or Cancel to return without adding the new color.
To define a custom color using RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color values:
From the Color Theme menu, click
Add Custom Color. The Custom Color
tool is displayed.
Enter values in the R, G and B fields. The color swatch
at the top reflects the new color values you've entered.
Click OK to add the color to the Custom Color Palette and return to the Color Theme menu, or Cancel to return without adding the new color.
To define a custom color using HSV color values:
From the Color Theme menu, click
Add Custom Color. The Custom Color
tool is displayed.
Enter values in the H, S and V fields. The color swatch
at the top reflects the new color values you've entered.
Click OK to add the color to the Custom Color Palette and return to the Color Theme menu, or Cancel to return without adding the new color.
To define a custom color using a Hexidecimal color value:
From the Color Theme menu, click
Add Custom Color. The Custom Color
tool is displayed.
Enter a Hexidecimal values in the
# field. The color swatch at the top reflects the new color value you've
entered.
Click OK to add the color to the Custom Color Palette and return to the Color Theme menu, or Cancel to return without adding the new color.
